Do you know what is necessary for foreigners to stay in Japan?
1. A PASS PORT (which is issued by your country’s government approved by the Japanese government. It is possible for a foreigner, who loses their nationality to be given a travel document by the Japanese embassy or consulate abroad)2. A PLANE TICKET
3. A VISA (that has been issued by the Japanese embassy and consulate abroad)
A VISA is issued by the Japanese embassy and consulate abroad before coming to Japan. You cannot get a Visa at an immigration office in Japan.
You must have a Visa when you visit Japan. If you don’t have one, you will be deported when the immigration officers investigate your application for landing at the airport in Japan.
In the following cases, it would be for you to pass immigration and receive permission for landing.
1. Person who is from a country with Visa Exemption Agreement
Staying within *3 months (sightseeing exc.)
(*please note: 6 months in some countries)
North America, South America, Europe, Singapore, Turkey, Israel,
Australia, New Zealand, etc, are applicable.
2. Person who has a re-entry permit
A person who has already status of residence and receives a re-entry permit
before leaving Japan
A visa is not valid after you receive an entry permit and they imprint your passport with a permission of landing’s mark. Then, endorsement of status of residence is evidence that you are eligible to stay in Japan legally.
●Types of VISAS●
There are various types of visas, such as Diplomat Visas, Official Visas, General Visas, Temporary visitor’s Visas, and Specific Visas.
